Over the last few episodes weeks, I have received quite a few emails with regards to finding more about our sponsors Bartercard. In order to answer some of the questions, I thought I would speak to there MD and see if I could come down to there head office and speak to some of the team to find out more.
A massive thanks to Russell and Nadia for taking the time out of their busy day to chat to me and explain the different opportunities that are available to you for working with Barter and a special thanks to Chris Kirby for allowing me to take a room away from them all to record the show live.
If you would like to know more about Bartercard then please visit www.bartercard.co.uk where you will find all of the information about contacting their trade and franchise departments.
History of Bartercard:
Principle Founders Brian Hall and Andrew Federowsky, Wayne Sharpe and first employee Maree St Clair started Bartercard on the Gold Coast, Australia, in 1991. This team shared a vision for Bartercard to become the world’s largest trade exchange and a globally recognised business-to-business brand.
Bartercard now supports 30 offices in Australia and 75 globally who successfully trade on a daily basis.
It was in 1995 that Bartercard International was created to replicate the model globally. Currently, Bartercard operates in eight countries; Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA, Thailand, UAE, Cyprus and South Africa with new International License enquiries daily.
In May 2012 the Bartercard International Group was formed merging both the Australian and International entities to make it easier for members to trade on a global platform.
On 9th September 2014, Bartercard International Group was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX), under the parent company BPS Technology.
In April 2018, the Bartercard UK licence was purchased by Chris Kirby and Greg Harrand. In January 2019, they purchased the Bartercard Trade Exchange in the UK and were joined by Marios Psyllides.
Chris started as a member of Bartercard in June 2010 after owning his design agency.
His experience using Bartercard was so successful he bought his first Bartercard Area Franchise in 2012.
