Empowerment Through Change

You have a choice

Welcome to my first Blog!

Some of us live the life we’ve always dreamed of, while some of us don’t. What differentiates one group from the other is success. One group is successful at having positive, healthy habits, when the other is successful at having unsuccessful habits.

If you have read the “About Me” section of this website, I’m sure you’ve come to understand the depth of the despair I’ve experienced in the past. And not just because of my beliefs about my health and physical abilities, but also because it took some time before I was diagnosed with dyslexia and as a result I grew up thinking that I was mentally challenged and would not be successful in anything I did.

I hit the lowest point of my hopelessness when one evening, and while I was sitting in my car trying to relax because my illness was really getting on top of me, I had a thought.

I said to myself “Maybe my family would be better off with out me”.

After all I was not stepping up and being the husband and father that my family deserved. I raised my eyes and saw a large old oak tree ahead and in that moment I found myself thinking that if I stepped just a little harder on the accelerator, all would be over and my family would be free.

It was in that moment that my son’s voice came alive in my head and asked me not to do it.

I burst into tears and I made the decision that from that point onwards I would stop at nothing until I got better, and after that I would find something I was passionate about and make a career out of it..

And that is exactly what I did!

So now I have the best job in the world, I’m meeting great people from around the globe and I’m supporting them in taking the first steps of their journey to success and to the life of their dreams.

The reason why I’m sharing all this with you is not because I’m trying to prove I’m someone special. I am as special as you are. I am telling you, because we all have dark places in our minds that hold us back, we are all frightened to tell ourselves or other people what we really want or achieve the lifestyle we dream of because we fear we will be laughed at or ridiculed.

But what I’m saying is that we shouldn’t care about what other people think. What I’m saying is if I can do it so can each and everyone of you reading this blog. I believe that all of us have an inner greatness that is yearning to break the chains that hold it down. I have seen people achieve the most amazing things once their inner coach finds one’s voice and heart and masters the courage to standup and say:

“I CAN”
“I CAN have the life I dream of”
“I CAN have the relationship of my dreams”
“I CAN find the perfect job and make financial breakthroughs”

After all it’s only your thoughts that define your behaviour, so CHOOSE to have positive thoughts..

Henry Ford said “Whether you believe you can do a thing or not, you’re right”.

So what are you going to CHOOSE? The road may be difficult but the reward you can give yourself can surpass your wildest dreams.

I want to leave you with one last thought. If your children or loved ones were in danger would you give up, or would you keep on trying and trying until you had saved them? So why wouldn’t you give the same love and unwavering determination when it comes to yourself?

I hope this has got you thinking. I wish you an amazing day with all the joy and wonder you deserve.

Thanks
Geoff
